What's algn?
Technology for the mind, not against it.
Two relationships. One system.
You talk, Sera listens. Over time it learns how you think: the themes you return to, the questions you keep circling, what’s changed since last month. That understanding stays yours, encrypted on your device.
It also shapes who you meet in the community. Not people performing in a feed, but people asking the same questions you are, matched privately and on your terms. What you take from those conversations can feed back into your private one, if you choose.
Each makes the other better, in a continuous loop.
Built from you
There’s no set path. What you talk about, where it goes and what it changes all depend on you, so no two people’s algn looks the same.
Two people can start in the same place, end up somewhere completely different, and still find common ground. That’s what you’re matched on: not how you look on paper, but what you’re both exploring.
We didn’t set out to borrow from biology. We set out to make it work. It turned out nature already knew how.
What algn is
- Built to leave you better
- People met through questions
- One system
- Alongside the people in your life
- Different for everyone
What algn isn't
- Built to keep you hooked
- A feed of people performing
- Two apps sharing a login
- A replacement for real friends
- The same for everyone
Why algn exists
Something happened to how we think, and how we connect. Most of it, no one agreed to.
Attention got shorter by design. The people you trust got fewer. The machinery for shaping what you believe got a century sharper, then got an algorithm. None of it was put to a vote. It arrived, and we adjusted.
algn is the other direction: built for connection, not attention, and for giving things back. It rests on three commitments.
Attention: measured by whether you leave better, not by how long it kept you.
Connection: real people, met through what they’re exploring. Not a feed of people performing.
Your inner life: what you think and say, held by you. Never the product.

Two relationships, each one feeding the other.
What it is
Three layers. Me (Sera): a private voice AI counterpart that learns how you think. Us: a social platform where people meet through what they’re exploring. Memory: the layer between, encrypted on your device, where each side informs the other.
Plenty of apps offer an AI companion, and plenty offer a social feed. Linking the two through one private memory, which you control, is the part we haven’t seen elsewhere.
Keys you hold
Nothing you say is the price of connection. Your memory is encrypted on your device, behind a key only you hold, so algn can’t read it. When a conversation needs cloud processing, it runs on open-weight models under zero data retention: nothing is kept afterwards. Not a promise, an architecture you can check.

- Go deeper: read our whitepapers, written to be checked.
- Ask anything: the site assistant answers questions about algn, briefly or in detail.
