Governance
algn is being built to answer to the people who use it.
Still open Community governed is the goal. algn is working towards a structure where the mission can’t be sold, and the people who use it have a real say in how it’s run. The legal form is still being worked out.
At launch Voting starts at launch. Members vote on features and direction from day one. Your say grows with your participation.
What it does
- Lets members vote on features and direction
- Scales your say with your participation
- Confirms Stewards by community vote
- Publishes the structure here as it settles
What it doesn't
- Sell influence
- Give ownership through membership
- Claim a finished legal structure

Say is grown here. It's never bought.
Nothing here is final, on purpose. We’d rather test governance with the people it’s for than lock it in first.
Rights by level
Each level includes the one before. Full detail on Membership.
- Creator: See and comment on proposals.
- Voice: Vote.
- Council: Submit proposals. Sit on strategic councils.
- Steward: Co-direct major initiatives.
Steward is reached through participation, then confirmed by a community vote. Standing comes from participation, not from credits, earned or bought.

Standing grows with time and use. There's no shortcut.
Why launch is a test
Launch is where voting, Steward confirmation and the participation behind them get tried with real members. The system is tuned with the people it’s for, before anything is finalised.
What membership isn't
Membership doesn’t make you an owner. It carries no equity, no stake and no shares. Credits pay for advanced features and participation sets your level. Neither is a claim on algn.
Stewards who take on real work can be paid for it. That’s payment for work, not ownership.
